Xtreme Air Dog Competition
Extreme Air Dogs is a team dock jumping sport. Teams are made up of one dog and one handler. In the Extreme Air event, handlers are allowed to throw a single, floatable, toy into the water for the dog to chase. Dogs can utilize the entire area of the 40 foot dock before jumping into the water. Dogs are then electronically judged on their distance from the edge of the 2 foot high dock, to where their base of their tail enters the water.
A second, optional event, is the Extreme Air High Jump. A bumper is suspended on an apparatus 8 feet away from the edge of the dock, and starting around the height of 5'6". Dogs are encouraged to run down the dock and leap up in an attempt to make a grab of the suspended bumper. Competition continues by raising the bumper higher with each subsequent jump. The highest jumping pup wins.
First time participants are encouraged to participate in any of the Extreme Air Dog events. Teams are divided up by several divisions; from little jumpers to the pros. Winners from each category will take home prize money and bragging rights!
